Firefighters with the Las Cruces Fire Department extinguished a fire in a two-story home on Friday afternoon.
Just before 4 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 23, firefighters responded to a home on the 3600 block of Ascencion Circle for a smoke investigation call.
Firefighters requested the call to be upgraded to a structure fire when they discovered a small fire in a second-floor bedroom. The first-arriving engine company initiated an interior attack, deploying a hose line and quickly knocking down the fire.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading throughout the house and minimized further property damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
