Fire Damages Home on Miranda St.

Las Cruces firefighters responded to a residential structure fire early Friday morning.

At about 2 a.m. Fri., Feb. 13, firefighters were called to a home on the 800 block of N Miranda St. for a structure fire.

Firefighters found heavy fire coming from the rear of the residence and quickly initiated fire attack. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. Crews searched the residence and found no people inside the home. Three dogs were found, two were deceased, and the third was successfully removed and returned to the owner.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment and was released later that day.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
